Here are list of sites that you can sign up with and start your online freelancing career. Sites in this list are ones that have been checked and are “safer” sites for genuine job opportunities. Sites are not in particular order but first three are the largest general freelancing sites.
Odesk.com is a popular online freelancing site with thousands of jobs published every month. Their slogan is “Love the way you work” and we could not agree more! Freelancer.com was established in 2004 and have since had just under whopping 5,000,000 projects posted! They say on their site that, “Freelancer.com is the world’s largest outsourcing and crowdsourcing marketplace for small business”. They have secure milestone payment system and jobs in SEO, Web Design, Engineering, Writing, Data Entry and more.
First line on Guru.com About sections is “Welcome to the world’s best online marketplace for freelance talent”. On Guru as a freelancer you can have profile, online portfolio and they also have tool called Marketing Score that helps freelancer on their strengths. Guru has thousands of jobs in all areas such as Graphic Design, Website Development, Marketing, Sales and Admin.
Peopleperhour.com is a UK site with hundreds of jobs posted each week. As well as having traditional job board they also have Hourlie where you can sell services for a fixed price, something similar to Fiverr.com which is really handy for say logo design type of work.
Sologig.com is part of CareerBuilder, which is largest job site in the US. Jobs on Sologig are mainly in IT and engineering. You can post resume and get automatic job alerts.
ProBlogger Job Board is great job board especially if you are looking for writing gigs and any blogging related jobs. Please not that Problogger only offers place for clients to post jobs and those applying for jobs should ensure client is trustworthy and that your payment is safe.
